A thin wooden door, locked from the inside with a bolt. Someone forces it open from the outside. This is the sound of the bolt tearing through the wooden door-frame. I mixed the splintering of wood with a dull clang of metal on metal to simulate the situation. Recorded with a rode video mic attached to a camera. My first time recording a sound!.

Sfx for a mail being delivered through a mail slot. It is a recorded with a hinged piece of metal screwed to wood because i no longer live in a place with a mail slot but needed the sound. Sounds a little thinner than a real one but it served my purposes. Recorded on a sd 702 with an ntg1 in a small video studio with cement floor and treated walls and ceiling. The beefier dropping mail sound was recoded in a small hallway with tile floor.

Xy stereo recording from gärdet subway station in stockholm. This focuses on an older trains doors, various steams and similar "heavy" sound elements. In post: edited in pro tools with som bass cutting (eq) and automation to make some sounds stand out but still sound realistic. Put on a light compressor and pich-shifted down some elements to give more depth. This was in someway inspired by "dead space" tram and door sounds but slightly less "massive" and haunting. Ps. There's 2 versions of this recording. The one with "nr" in the title is noise reduced so sounds like the doors and steam are somewhat separated from the background. Hope you like it.

In this sound i am leaving the office, opening a set of doors and walking outside to the sound of rush-hour traffic going by. You can hear the sound change from the reception area indoors to the loud outdoor sound of traffic. This was recorded in-person with a tascam dr-40 stereo recorder. Lift of an university. First he says "lift up" and then "2nd floor". The sound of doors opening and closing. We can hear the distant voices. Sound environment. I used zoom h4 handy recorder with built-in microphones. I modified the original sound and added equalized and compression. I changed the input and output sound progressively decreasing. All with adobe audition 2014.

This was hard to create i used many different types of doors for the close including hatches, fridges, cars, large and small. I layered them with a stretched air effect to indicate pressure.

Inside a freezer. The door is open and the ice melts produce thin cracks. The cooling circuit make sounds too. Finally i close the door (fade out). Really cold.
